After completing an IT degree and working in the corporate landscape for 5 years only to feel disillusioned and unfulfilled, a series of events lead Tony to discover his life's calling-chiropractic. So, at age 25 he returned to full-time university study.
At age 30, after completing a 3-year health science Bachelor's and a 2-year clinical chiropractic Master's degree (both with distinction), Tony was a qualified chiropractor.
After a year in the field, Tony was still dissatisfied, and found himself asking more questions and seeking greater understanding of the anatomy, physiology and, most of all, the neurology behind his patient's clinic presentations. This led him to seek out Dr. Paul Noone (chiropractor), perhaps the most knowledgeable, and certainly one of the most experienced chiropractors in Australia in the field of clinical neuroscience. Dr. Noone agreed to take Tony on as an intern. He spent the subsequent 5 years observing, assisting and, eventually consulting with hundreds of clinical cases under Dr. Noone's supervision, while concurrently studying postgraduate clinical neuroscience from the Carrick Institute in the USA.
In 2015 Dr. Cassis passed the rigorous board exams and received his certification as a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB). Since then, Tony has been consulting on complex patient cases of his own.
Within the field of clinical neuroscience, Tony's special interest lies in the areas of dizziness (vertigo) and balance disorders, concussion and post-viral chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME). His major passion is the prevention of falls, and reducing falls-risk in older populations.
Dr. Cassis currently consults both in the bayside suburb of Hampton with Dr. Noone, as well as his own clinic in the Bellarine Peninsula town of Ocean Grove. When not with patients, Tony will usually be found cooking (sourdough and smoked meats are his favourites), going for long jogs, or simply spending time with his young family.
